Day 30 - Fantasy

The base of today’s postcard is part of a card that I received in the mail announcing a local art show.  I cut it down to the typical 4x6 size.  I then used a piece I cut off the top of the original card to cover the words that were on the postcard.  I found some images that I had cut off of other greeting cards and collaged them into a picture of two friends looking up into the night sky looking at interesting and colorful images rather than a more typical view.  It is a fantasy night sky.

It is hard to believe that I have made it through another month of daily projects.  Tomorrow is the 31st so I get a "day off" to get ready for September's 30 day challenge which I will announce on the 1st.

Day 29 - Connect

This is a picture taken a number of years ago of my nephew and a young friend of his on a beach.  I love how this picture is framed and I thought that the word CONNECT was fitting in that the children were connecting not only with each other but with the beautiful world around them.  It is a meaningful message for us all.

Day 28 - Torn

I love this quote and thought that making it a post card would be a good way to share the quote with others.

Day 27 - Variety

Below are a few examples of post cards that I created by cutting up old record album covers (while making record bowls).  Today I wanted to express the idea that postcards do not have to be 4 inches by 6 inches to be considered postcards.  Each one of these is a different shape and can be written on and sent to someone who would enjoy getting some actual mail.  One is obviously from a Smurfs album, the three women are from what I think was a Gilbert and Sullivan compilation album and the other was an image from a record by a musician who was unfamiliar to me.  I picked it because I liked the picture on the album.  Enjoy.

Day 26 - Educational

I recently found a website where people posted old/unique pictures and photos and added humorous captions to them.  I thought this would be a fun experience for creating a postcard.  So I looked through my collection of free Dover clip art and found these two young girls reading.  I will confess that I have never read Fifty Shades of Gray (which should apparently have been spelled "Grey") and don’t have much interest in reading it – but thanks to a friend, I do have a fairly good idea as to what is in the book.  So I thought it would be fun to have these two little girls “borrowing” their mother’s copy.

I enjoyed the exercise of finding a picture and adding a caption like this and may make it a future 30 Day project.
