Today’s
magnet is in honor of this weekend’s Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk,
NC. This is one of my favorite festivals
around and I won’t be able to go this year due to other commitments. Woolly worms are supposed to predict the type
of weather we will be getting each winter based on the different stripes on the
worms. At the Woolly Worm Festival, they
actually have woolly worm races and the winner is the one that is used to “predict
the winter”. This little worm is made
with tiny pom poms and even tinier googly eyes.
According to his stripes there will only be two weeks of rough winter
weather, but he also says that there will be only three weeks of winter
total. He may not be a great prognosticator,
but I think he is cute.
